Precompetitive partnership model honored for advancing regenerative organic agriculture and climate resilience
Richmond, BC — April 23, 2026 — Nature’s Path Organic Foods, North America’s largest independent organic breakfast and snack food company, is proud to share that the Regenerative Organic Oats (ROO) program has been recognized, alongside project partners, with The Climate Collaborative’s Collective Action Leadership Award, presented at the Climate Leaders Luncheon during Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California earlier this March.
Presented annually, the Climate Collaborative’s Climate Leaders Awards honor companies and organizations across the food and grocery industry that are driving meaningful, measurable climate action. The Collective Action Leadership Award specifically recognizes initiatives that demonstrate the power of partnership in advancing solutions no single organization could achieve alone.
For Nature’s Path, this recognition reflects years of collaboration grounded in shared purpose, responsibility, and a commitment to building a more resilient food system.
“This recognition is a powerful reminder that real climate progress happens when we work together,” said Jyoti Stephens, Vice President of Mission and Strategy at Nature’s Path Organic Foods. “Through the Regenerative Organic Oats program, we’ve seen firsthand how precompetitive collaboration can unlock meaningful, scalable impact — supporting farmers, strengthening organic systems and advancing climate solutions across the value chain.”
Nature’s Path has been a proud partner in the ROO program since its inception, alongside Canadian Organic Growers (COG), Riverside Natural Foods and Bay State Milling Company of Canada. Built as a first-of-its-kind, precompetitive, farmer-forward model, the program brings together value chain partners to invest directly in Canadian prairie-based organic oat producers as they transition to regenerative organic farming practices — sharing both the risks and rewards of that transition. Set to surpass $1M dollars in investment in 2026, the ROO Program has supported 30 organic farmers across the Prairies farming approximately 36,000 regenerative organic acres and countless additional informal participants through Field Days and other events, empowering farmers to transform their operations through practices that restore ecosystems, strengthen resilience, and advance the future of agriculture.
As a pre-competitive collaboration, this work signals a new way of doing business—bringing brands, processors, and farmers together to share responsibility and build a food system that works with nature, not against it.
“The leadership within this program belongs to farmers,” added Stephens. “Their desire to learn and collaborate in service to the soil is what make this work possible.”
The Climate Collaborative’s 2026 awards highlighted real-world, replicable climate solutions across key areas including regenerative agriculture, forest protection, super pollutants, product innovation, communications and collective action. Winners were announced on March 3, 2026, during Expo West, one of the industry’s largest gatherings for natural and organic products.
