Bright and early the morning of January 23rd, 40 members of 2023 #Toonies4Tummies retailer and sponsor partner community stood shoulder to shoulder with apple corers, spatulas and breakfast gear in hand, prepared to serve a nutritious breakfast to 500 middle schoolers in Coquitlam, BC.
Participants from across sponsor brands alongside Save-On-Foods, team members, President, Darrell Jones, grocery leads from Buy-Low Foods LP and Nesters Market, prepared a full breakfast of hot and cold cereals, eggs, toast, yogurt and fresh fruit with many campaign sponsor products served.
It was a tremendous morning with participants learning from the Principal the positive impact of the donations. Today, #Toonies4Tummies funds over 3,000 programs, often providing food insecure children their most nutritious meal of the day.
Toonies for Tummies raised $4M during its 2022 campaign and hopes to again this year. The campaign is underway through March 16 in Western Canada, Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
