One of Canada’s most nostalgic grocery staples is heading back to store freezers.
Loblaw says frozen juice concentrate will return later this month through its No Name brand, bringing back a product many shoppers feared had disappeared for good.
The retailer says the move comes after hearing from customers who continued to ask for frozen juice following the category’s recent exit from the Canadian market.
The new No Name lineup will include White Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Limeade, Grape Punch, Fruit Punch and Berry Punch.
The products will be available at Loblaw-owned stores across the country, including locations operating under various grocery banners.
Pricing will vary by retailer, with expected starting prices around $2.25 for a 283-millilitre container.
Frozen juice concentrate became increasingly difficult to find after suppliers exited the category, leaving many shoppers scrambling for alternatives.
Loblaw says it began searching for new sources as soon as it learned frozen juice would no longer be available through its existing supplier.
The company also noted there is currently no manufacturer producing frozen juice concentrate in Canada, meaning the new products will be sourced internationally.
While ready-to-drink beverages have become the norm, frozen concentrate still has a loyal fan base. For many Canadians, it remains a budget-friendly pantry staple and a reminder of family breakfasts, summer lemonade stands and holiday gatherings.
Now, after a brief disappearance from the freezer aisle, frozen juice is getting another chance to earn a spot in shopping carts across the country.
