Expanded Education, Information and Business Opportunities at Bakery Showcase 2016

Bakery Showcase 2016 which takes place  May 1st – 3rd at the International Centre in Toronto will feature an all new education programmes, enhanced B2B business opportunities while introducing a new Knowledge Centre to support Canada’s baking industry’s efforts in delivering innovative and nutritious products to Canadian consumers.

Taking place every two years, Bakery Showcase is Canada’s largest baking trade show and conference with some 100,000 sq. of trade exhibits featuring baking ingredients, equipment, services, technology along with finished baked goods.

In addition to the trade show floor, attendees this year will enjoy an expanded education program featuring presentations from Harold Lloyd one of the food industry’s premiere speakers who will deliver a range of money making solutions for bakers; the Special Baker panel comprised of some of the country’s preeminent industry leaders will offer their views on where the industry is today and where it’s heading.   Dr. Joe Schwarcz from McGill University’s will provide his unique perspective on the growing amount of nutritional Advice and whether or not there is a solution to all the confusion.  Globe and Mail columnist Leslie Beck will be on hand to provide her first hand perspective on how the media is attempting to deal with the increasing and often contradictory flow of new food and nutrition science.   And finally our State of the Industry panel will explore how the baking industry in both Canada and the United States are responding to both consumers and governments regarding today’s food and nutrition challenges.

 

Bakery Showcase 2016 is also introducing a new Knowledge Centre and will be the place to be to learn the latest in bakery “hot topics and trends”, how to get more whole grains in your bakery products or just if you wish to expand your understanding of wheat varieties and their baking properties.

The Baking Association of Canada (BAC) is Canada’s trade association representing the country’s $8 billion commercial, retail and in-store bakeries. BAC’s members currently represents more than 80% of the nation’s production capacity within the industry producing a wide range of products including breads and rolls, cakes, cookies and other sweet goods along with frozen products.
