To all of our Business Partners,
I am very pleased to announce that Bill Ivany will be joining Tree of Life, in the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer.
Our company and the grocery industry in Canada are going through a period of dramatic change in a climate of economic headwinds, retail consolidation, currency volatility, technological upheaval and other marketplace disruptors. To best prepare ourselves for this changing world, I felt it was opportune to bring in another accomplished senior executive. As the saying goes, anyone can sail in smooth waters; it is only when the seas are rough that you are truly tested. Bill brings an impressive skill set that I know will help us navigate these waters.
Bill comes to us from Marsham Natural Food Brokers, where he is the President. Prior to this, he was the President of Melitta Coffee Canada, a post he held for 14 years. His previous experience with William Dunne Food Brokers and ConAgra set him up well to take the Melitta brand to new heights of success in Canada.
With Bill’s arrival, I will be changing our reporting structure. Reporting to Bill will be our Marketing, Purchasing, Operations and I.T. functions. Barry Sheldrick in his role as VP Operations and I.T. will report to Bill, as will Leeola Zanetti, Senior Director Specialty & Fresh, Sandi Hester, Director of Natural, Rosy Atwal, Director of Marketing Insights, along with the Teams that report up through these individuals. Bill, along with Chris Powell, VP Customer Development, Gord Walker, CFO, Helen Morrison, VP HR and Peter Clarke, VP & GM NorthBud will report to me.
Bill will be joining us on April 4. I look forward to introducing you to him and having his expertise and experience on our team.
