Dear Industry Leaders ,
2021 has thrown us more curve balls than we can count! Thank goodness it seems that with vaccinations, we can travel and meet in person (within limits). Optimistically, we want to see our friends and colleagues in person, and so we are holding Santa Cause later than our traditional date in December. Alberta is changing the rules, and if anything the last 2 years have taught us is that we can celebrate anytime we can get together.
This year is the 21st Santa Cause, and if ever there was a year to celebrate leaders in the Food and CPG industry it is now. From supply chain to retailers working with suppliers, to every person working tirelessly at store level to allow Canadians to feed their families, we continue to focus on food and consumer packaged goods to fuel comfort and maintain relationships. Gathering around a table with family and friends has been a luxury for some, and an aspirational dream for Canadians caught in storms and floods.
Our Santa Cause date for 2021 is February 7, 2022, which is the first Monday in February. We want to be able to include as many members as we can for this in person event. Santa Cause has allowed our industry to get together with some seasonal cheer and recognize those that have been mentors and leaders in Western Canada. The event has allowed us to give back to the Calgary Food Bank, and the honouree’s charities of choice.
