Puratos is pleased to announce that on October 7th, 2019, Sandel Foods Inc. (SFI) was acquired by Puratos Canada.
SFI is one of the leading fruit fillings producers in Western Canada. It was established in 1979 by two business partners with a vision to provide custom ingredient solutions to the baking industry in Western Canada. Today, SFI has evolved to offer the expertise and flexibility to formulate products to meet the evolving demands of customers and consumers, particularly in the areas of organic and preservative free fruit fillings. SFI is also the only Canadian company processing glacé fruit products, which is in high demand particularly for fruit cakes.
SFI operates out of their headquarters in Chilliwack, British Columbia Canada where they also have a facility that is over 70,000 square feet of automated production lines. Their ideal location places them in the heart of an abundant fruit growing region and enables them to deliver their products and services from Vancouver to Winnipeg as well as down the West Coast of the United States.
Puratos is an international group, which offers a full range of innovative products and application expertise for artisans, industry, retailers and food service customers in the bakery, patisserie and chocolate sectors. Its headquarters are in the outskirts of Brussels (Belgium), where the company was founded in 1919. Today, Puratos counts over 9000 employees. Products and services are available in over 100 countries around the world. Wade Godin, currently Director of Sales & Customer Service at SFI will lead the business from Chilliwack, BC and will be a member of Puratos Canada Management Team. His longtime commercial experience and SFI expertise in the North West American region will be
key in ensuring a smooth transition and strong collaboration between the 2 companies.
Our goal is to provide a seamless transition and integration. In the short term it will be business as usual for SFI, and our customers, suppliers, vendors and partners. In the medium and long term, we will explore opportunities to bring new resources, capabilities and R&D support to the SFI team which will enable them to accelerate their growth. You will be notified as soon as possible of any changes in our operations which may affect you.
