Final Days to Declutter for a Cause—Diabetes Canada’s 40 Days, 40 Items Challenge Ends April 17
April 8, Toronto, ON: The countdown is on—only 9 days left in Diabetes Canada’s 40 Days, 40 Items Challenge! With spring just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to clear out some space and give back. Diabetes Canada is encouraging Canadians to collect gently used clothing, textiles or small household items in a bag or box daily. Until April 17th, or any time, items can be dropped at a Diabetes Canada donation bin or picked up at free of charge from your home. To find a donation bin or schedule a free home pick up, visit declutterfordiabetes.ca.
The challenge, now in its fourth year, makes it easy to feel good about spring cleaning: not only does donating gently used goods help to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills, it also helps Diabetes Canada support people living with diabetes.
“The 40 Days, 40 Items Challenge is a fun and easy way for families, communities and workplaces to come together for a good cause,” says Sean Shannon, President and CEO of National Diabetes Trust. “Each year, we are delighted to see Canadians work together to raise vital funds for people living with diabetes while reducing clutter in their homes and diverting waste from landfills.”
Net proceeds from clothing, textiles and small household items donated to Diabetes Canada help to support crucial diabetes research and enable children with type 1 diabetes to attend summer camps designed with their needs in mind.
