Sobeys Inc. has opened a new IGA store at 20E Great Plains Road, just east of Regina -the first in Western Canada for the last 15 years.
The company currently operates 32 locations in Western Canada, mostly in small towns. This opening near a large city re-establishes the iconic IGA banner, known as Sobeys community banner, in a larger urban setting.
Operated by franchisees Wayne and Joan Zook, the store sports a new look for IGA making it a flagship store for the banner. It features stir fry dishes, store-made flatbreads, a curry bar, organic and natural products, premium meat and seafood departments, with full-service fresh meat and fish counter, as well as certified humane beef, pork and chicken products.
