“We’re excited to welcome customers to our new store and become part of the South Granville community,” said Dan Close, Store Owner. “We know customers are looking for convenient ways to shop without compromising freshness, quality or value. Whether they’re picking up ingredients for dinner, grabbing a prepared meal on the go or looking for great savings on everyday essentials, we’re proud to offer a fresh new grocery experience for the neighbourhood.”

The 19,000-square-foot store offers a wide selection of fresh, grab and go options, including in-store made sandwiches, salads, bowls, sushi, and a self-serve salad bar. Customers will also find a self-serve salad bar, freshly baked goods and full-service meat, seafood and deli departments.

In addition to convenient meal solutions, the store features a comprehensive assortment of fresh produce, meat, seafood, dairy, frozen foods, natural and organic products, pantry staples and household essentials. The store also proudly supports local businesses and makers, offering products from brands including Bliss Balls, Berry Crispies, Peel Tea and more.

The store offers additional convenience through PC Express delivery and self-checkout lanes, making everyday grocery trips faster and easier.

To celebrate the grand opening, customers can take advantage of South Granville-exclusive opening specials, receive a product giveaway for the first 250 customers, and pick up a complimentary tote goodie bag while quantities last.

Store Owner Dan Close brings more than 23 years of experience with Loblaw. Since joining Real Canadian Superstore in 2003, he has held a variety of leadership positions across Alberta before relocating to Vancouver three years ago. Most recently, he helped launch the Loblaw City Market at The Post as Assistant Store Manager and Owner-in-Training while completing Loblaw’s Franchise Development Program. South Granville marks his first franchise location.

As part of its commitment to the neighbourhood, Loblaws City Market South Granville will donate $2,500 to the Urban Native Youth Association (UNYA), a local organization that empowers Indigenous youth and young adults through culturally grounded programs and services. UNYA supports Indigenous youth in learning, growing, and thriving by providing opportunities in education, employment, leadership development, housing, health, and community connection.

Employing more than 75 team members, the new store represents an investment in the South Granville community, supporting local employment while providing residents with a convenient destination for fresh food, meal solutions and everyday value.
