The membership-only, big box warehouse store just announced a big change that will give Canadians more time to browse the aisles, enjoy food samples or take advantage of the famous $1.50 hot dog and soda combo.
Longtime Costco members may already know that the warehouses extend their weekend hours during the holiday season. But if you thought Costco’s new weekend hours were just for the holidays, think again.
Instead of 6 p.m., Costco Warehouses across Canada will close at 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays going forward, the company noted.
A 2024 study by Dunnhumby, cited by Retail Insider, named Costco as the top grocery retailer in Canada, beating out discount banners like Super C, Maxi and Walmart. Retail Insider noted Costco’s dominance stems from its strong performance in key value drivers: price, promotions and rewards, operations and digital.
