L’OCA Quality Market is set to close its Edmonton and Sherwood Park locations on March 12, 2026. The grocery store, which opened in 2024, was known for its unique concept that combined grocery shopping with dining experiences. However, the company announced it could not sustain its business model due to financial difficulties, leading to the decision to shut down its operations.
The company will also no longer be coming to St. Albert as had been planned.
In a statement, the store said they were humbled by the difficulty of a locally focused, hand-crafted business model and didn’t see a sustainable path forward despite their best efforts.
“We are very thankful for the support that we have received from our customers and are especially grateful for the hard work and dedication of our employees,” the statement read. They said all employees and suppliers will be paid in full and on schedule.
