Thanks to customer feedback, Betterwith founder Lori Joyce made a surprising discovery after listening to what her customers were saying: Betterwith Ice Cream contains on average 19-50% less sugar than other premium ice cream brands on the market. But while it contains less sugar, the brand hasn’t compromised on flavour. With this new discovery in mind, Lori rebranded her packaging and redesigned her website, betterwith.com, shifting the focus of her message to educating the consumer on what is (and is not) found inside her ice cream, compared to the “frozen treats” found in the freezer aisle.
“Innovation may be trending in the food industry today, but sometimes it’s best not to mess with a good thing. Betterwith ice cream is made the Old-World way; full-fat cream, simple ingredients, and an expert process. Real ice cream – like Grandma used to make – should not change. That is our product, and promise.”
Currently, Betterwith Ice Cream is available in Western Canada.

Full-fat cream is the foundation of our old-world recipe and why we have the lowest possible sugar in our ice cream. Unlike similar premium ice cream brands, Betterwith is made using simple ingredients that you can pronounce. Our base is made using only four ingredients: cream, cane sugar, nonfat dry milk, and egg yolks. The decadent, creamy result is naturally lower in sugar and calories than other premium ice cream brands. Our ice cream is so clean, it can even be enjoyed by those with lactose sensitivities.

ABOUT LORI JOYCE, FOUNDER and CEO, BETTERWITH ICE CREAM
Former Cupcakes co-founder and co-star of the TV series The Cupcake Girls (2010-2012), Lori Joyce has taken her passion for sweets to the ice cream aisle with Betterwith – an ice cream brand that uses full-fat cream and simple ingredients to create a premium ice cream brand like no other.
Inspired by her childhood, which she spent living the organic lifestyle of her Croatian parents on their family farm on Vancouver Island, and driven by her desire to create a flavourful ice cream made with simple ingredients that her own two boys would love, Lori perfected her recipe right on Vancouver Island where she still calls home.
