From humble beginnings to becoming the largest family-owned importer distributor of Italian dry foods into Canada, Aurora Importing grounded in its leadership role in delivering authentic and diverse Mediterranean foods to Canadian consumers, are excited to announce that effective today have made changes to their executive team.
Joe Moscato has been appointed as their new President. Moscato joined Aurora Importing in 2018 as VP Sales, subsequently adding the role VP of Marketing a year later. During his tenure at Aurora Importing, he has delivered tremendous growth through execution of strategic objectives aligned with the company’s core values. A result driven seasoned executive with over 22 years of progressive CPG experience in various leadership roles within the grocery industry.
As President of Aurora Importing & Distribution, Joe Moscato presides over one of the country’s largest & prominent importer distributors of a number of Italy’s most iconic brands as well as the Aurora & Allessia brands, some of Canada’s most trusted and beloved symbols of authentic Mediterranean foods.
We are also pleased to announce that Peter Dichio has been named the company’s first Chief Financial Officer. Peter joined Aurora Importing in 2016 after spending 10 years with Johnvince Foods as controller. A veteran financial professional, Peter will be overseeing finance, IT and logistics.
In addition to their newly appointed roles with Aurora Importing, Moscato & Dichio’s promotions as President & CFO respectively extend to Edoko Food Importers. Edoko, acquired by the Pulla family in 2016, has been servicing the Western Canadian marketplace for over 66 years. A full-service importer distributor of European dry grocery foods and cheeses services all class of trade in the region.
Moscato & Dichio are tasked with leading the merger of Aurora Importing & Edoko Food Importers fulfilling ownerships vision and business objectives of leveraging assets and competencies within a national infrastructure.
