Save-On-Foods celebrates grand opening of new University District store in Calgary

(August 28, 2020 – Calgary, AB.) Western Canadian grocery retailer, Save-On-Foods, officially opens the doors at its University District location today at 4163 University Avenue NW. Continuing to expand their brand across Western Canada, Save-On-Foods University District is the newest addition to this vibrant urban neighbourhood. The opening of this store marks the company’s first location in the West End of Calgary.

Save-On-Foods University District offers local residents a full and fresh traditional grocery store offering, but with some exciting additions that are unique to Save-On-Foods. These include a juice and smoothie bar, sushi bar, and poke bar in addition to a soup and salad bar, hot buffet island, a Starbucks kiosk and full pharmacy.

Also, unique to this Save-On-Foods is an Urban Fare kitchen with restaurant featuring a full dine-in menu of delicious dishes. Customers can expect to find fresh-made gourmet hot case selections including prime rib, leg of lamb, porchetta and both rotisserie and fried chicken. These delicious ready-to-go meal items can all be paired with your choice of steamed or roasted vegetables, potatoes, quinoa or cauliflower rice. With options to dine-in and take-out, customers will be thrilled with the convenience and quality.

Grand opening celebrations kicked off on Friday August 28th with one lucky shopper being randomly selected at the checkout each day to win their groceries for free until September 10th.

Save-On-Foods University District is open to all customers with enhanced safety protocols in place from 8 a.m to 11 p.m. seven days a week and has reserved the opening hour from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. every day for seniors, people with disabilities and those most vulnerable to shop.
