CIGBA Announces New Board Appointments

Burlington, ON – The Canadian Independent Grocers Buying Alliance (CIGBA) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Directors to its Board, along with several executive leadership transitions that reflect the organization’s ongoing commitment to strong governance and industry representation across Canada.

New Directors

Joining the Board of Directors are:

	Justin Lussier Stong’s Market (British Columbia)
	Francesco Cataldi Cataldi Fresh Markets (Ontario)

As Directors, Justin and Francesco bring valuable experience, leadership, and insight from their respective organizations and regions. Their appointments further strengthen CIGBA’s national representation and support the Alliance’s mission of serving independent grocers across Canada.

Board Leadership Transitions

In addition to welcoming new Directors, CIGBA is pleased to announce the following leadership transitions within its Board of Directors:

	Adam Powell, Powell’s Supermarket (AGD) Appointed Chair of the Board, having previously served as Vice-Chair.
	Mike Sharpe, Sharpe’s Food Market Will assume the role of Past Chair, following his tenure as Chair of the Board.
	Gabriele Torchetti, Lady York Foods Appointed Vice-Chair, transitioning from his previous role as Treasurer of the Board.
	Tarik Zeid, Food Fare Appointed Treasurer of the Board, having previously served as a Director.

DCI Board Executive Leadership

In addition to the CIGBA Board of Directors leadership transitions, the organization is pleased to announce the executive leadership team for its Distribution Canada Inc. (DCI) Board:

• Adam Powell, Powell’s Supermarket (AGD), Newfoundland and Labrador — Chair
• Mike Sharpe, Sharpe’s Food Market, Ontario — Past Chair
• Gabriele Torchetti, Lady York Foods, Ontario — Vice-Chair
• Tarik Zeid, Food Fare, Manitoba — Treasurer

Together, the DCI Board leadership team will continue to provide strategic oversight and guidance, supporting DCI’s role in delivering value and innovative solutions to CIGBA members and industry partners across Canada.
