Calgary Co-Op Closing Two Northwest Locations

Calgary Co-Op will close two of its grocery stores in the city’s northwest quadrant in March.

The co-operative has confirmed that it will shutter its Hamptons and Sage Hill locations. The Hamptons Wine Spirit Beer and Cannabis locations will also be shuttered.

The closures are slated for March 28. Calgary Co-Op has pledged to support its affected unionized employees but has not provided details.

Meanwhile, the company recently opened a new Calgary Co-op Food Centre, Pharmacy, Gas Station and Wine Spirits Beer store in the community of Greystone in Cochrane.

“This has been a long time coming,” says Jeff Ambrose, Senior Vice President, Operations and Merchandising, Calgary Co-op. “Cochrane is the fastest growing community in Alberta, and we are excited to bring Calgary

Co-op’s unparalleled service, fresh selection and unique offerings to this vibrant town.”
