Fresh St. Market will open its doors in Kitsilano December 12

New location set to ignite Kitsilano’s food offerings
with its largest hot bar, fresh sushi, and burrito bar

December 9, 2025, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) traditional territory / Vancouver – B.C.-based and family owned  today announced it will open Fresh St. Market in Kitsilano on December 12 at 2823 4th Avenue.

“We’re thrilled to share that Fresh St. Market is opening its ninth B.C location at 4th and Macdonald in Kitsilano on Friday, December 12 with a grand opening celebration in January,” said Palle Knudsen, Vice President of Retail Operations at Fresh St. Market.  “This new store will feature our largest hot bar yet and serve as a one-stop destination for everything from locally sourced fresh produce and Certified Angus Beef to freshly made sushi, our signature hot cookies, Peak donuts, a burrito bar, carvery and so much more. We’re not just opening another store – we’re creating a vibrant new food experience for the Kitsilano community.”

Fresh St. Market opened its first location in West Vancouver in 2013 and since then has partnered with hundreds of local farms and producers offering British Columbians the highest quality products and unique fresh items across all its grocery categories.

LOCAL FRESH FOOD OFFERINGS 

 

Customers at the new Fresh St. Market in Kitsilano will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide selection of locally sourced foods:

 

  • Meat aficionados will appreciate finding local, fresh poultry sourced from the Fraser Valley, meats from Oyama Sausage Co. on Granville Island and Two Rivers Meat from North Vancouver. This includes Charcuterie from Two Rivers as well as Charcuterie from Chop N Block from Kamloops.
  • Fresh St. Market offers a Canadian Certified Angus Beef Program that meets all 10 of the brand’s quality specifications. Only 3% of beef achieves the high standards of Certified Angus Beef ®. There is also a dry aged case with Certified Angus Beef – aged minimum 50 days.
  • Cheese lovers can enjoy local cheese from Golden Ears Cheesecrafters in Maple Ridge, Farm House Natural Cheeses from Agassiz, and Mount Lehman from Abbotsford.
  • When shopping at Fresh St. Market, you can rest assured that you can find in the market’s full-service case sustainable seafood and part of the  Wise program.
  • Coffee lovers will enjoy a fantastic selection of Whistler’s Forecast Coffee and paired with Fresh St. Market’s signature chocolate chip walnut and salted caramel cookies always served warm, it is a perfect reason to stop in the store.

 

  • 26 delicious varieties of exclusive Peak Donuts are available including these fan favourites: Custard King; Strawberry Pistachio; Crème Brulé; Cookies N’ Cream; Apple Cinnamon Fritter; Salted Dulce de Leche Cronut and Cheddar & Onion Fritter.

Fresh St. Market has partnered with FoodMesh since 2020 diverting surplus edible food into the equivalent of nearly three million meals, benefitting charities and individuals across the province. The FoodMesh program will commence immediately at the new store.

Customers at the new location will also be able to utilize Borrow a Bag where they are able to get a reusable bag for a refundable deposit of $2.99, and when they are finished with the bag they can return it to get their deposit back. The bag is laundered and brought back to the store for more customer use in this circular reusable bag system.

A grand opening celebration event is being planned for the new Fresh St. Market at 4th and Macdonald in the new year. More details to come!
