#RandomActsofCooking calls on Canadians to cook up some joy for those in need

We have all experienced just how busy the holiday season can be. With so much going on it is important to stop and consider those people in our lives and communities who may need a helping hand. This holiday season, Tre Stelle invites Canadians to reach out to others by performing#RandomActsOfCooking to spread some joy through the connective power of delicious food.

At Tre Stelle, we passionately believe in the power of delicious food to build relationships and strengthen communities. We want to share this passion with Canadians and inspire them to join us on our journey of spreading goodwill.   We are challenging Canadians to get in the kitchen, cook up something delicious, and perform a #RandomActOfCooking. A Random Act of Cooking can benefit anyone, from one of the 850,000 Canadians utilizing food bank services each month, to a friend, family member or neighbour who is alone for the holidays or unable to cook for themselves. From a plate of chocolate chip cookies for a favourite teacher to a turkey dinner for a local community center, there is no limit to what you can create and share! The Tre Stelle brand, owned by Arla Foods Canada, has been inspiring exciting cooking adventures in the kitchen for almost 60 years in Canada.  “Although sharing is central to the spirit of the holidays, we are hoping this initiative reaches beyond the season” says Eric Elmhirst, President of Arla Foods Canada.  “The small act of giving homecooked food to someone can bring people together all year round, demonstrating the kindness and compassion Canadians are known for.”

Of course, we also want Canadians to share their Random Acts of Cooking to inspire others to spread the joy. Tre Stelle will donate $1 to FoodShare for each social share using the #RandomActsOfCooking tag, up to $5000. FoodShare is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to healthy food. Participants are encouraged to nominate three of their friends to do the same, inspiring a wave of giving that will create positive change in communities across the country.

The campaign kicks off November 28th with a charity cooking workshop at Dish Cooking Studio in Toronto. Working with chefs from both Tre Stelle and FoodShare, volunteers will be preparing and donating hundreds of nutritious meals ready to be enjoyed in community centres and senior residences across the GTA. Workshop attendees will be among the first to take the pledge to perform a Random Act of Cooking, igniting momentum for the campaign with their first nominations.

Thank you for your support and we hope you join us in spreading some #RandomActsOfCooking! https://www.trestelle.ca/raoc @TreStelleCheese
