TORONTO, Canada – APRIL 4, 2018 – Mondelēz International has named Martin Parent, as the President of Mondelez Canada, responsible for the oversight of the company’s new Canada Business Unit (BU) effective March 26, 2019. In his new position, he will lead one of Mondelēz International’s biggest markets and the second largest snacking company in Canada, with nine locations and more than 2,400 employees across Canada.
A veteran of the food industry, Martin most recently served as President and CEO of the largest Canadian yogurt manufacturer, Ultima Foods Inc. Under his direction from 2014 to 2018, the company experienced consistent improvement in market share of the branded portfolio and net sales growth, as well as leading growth for the entire category in Canada.

Mondelēz Canada has recently invested over $250million in Canadian manufacturing across its Ontario manufacturing base, including $130million in its East York bakery in Toronto and $40million in its candy making facility in Hamilton.

As an accomplished leader known for delivering transformational and profitable growth for brands, Martin also served as the General Manager at MARS Inc. from 2011 to 2014 in the Gulf/Middle East, Turkey & Africa.
Martin’s new role with Mondelēz International has a hint of homecoming, as he worked for Cadburyin Canada, Australia and South-East Asia from 2003 to 2010.
Born and raised in Québec, Martin is passionate about enriching the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and performs in partnership with a number of prominent community organizations.
In 2018, Mondelēz Canada employees volunteered over 1,800 hours at local charities and community events and has donated over $3 million to local charities in the last five years.
Martin Parent will be based out of Mondelez Canada’s head office in Toronto and report directly to Glen Walter, Executive Vice President& President, North America.
